Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive at the Mayor of London’s Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). Here at OPDC, we are delivering one of the UK’s largest and most significant regeneration projects and, as we move from strategic planning into delivery, we are looking for an exceptional chief executive to drive forward our ambitions.
OPDC is a Mayoral Development Corporation, established to deliver the ambitious targets of 25,000 new homes and 56,000 new jobs in an Opportunity Area spanning 650 hectares across three west London boroughs. It includes Park Royal industrial estate, the Grand Union Canal, Wormwood Scrubs parkland and crucially, the vast new HS2 ‘superhub’ at Old Oak Common. It is a project of huge scale and potential to drive inward investment and significant public benefit across London and beyond.
Key to this, is our principal development opportunity, Old Oak, a 70-acre brownfield development area, which OPDC is transforming into a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous canalside district, delivering thousands of new and affordable homes, jobs for the future, superbly connected transport and a green and healthy environment.
With a planning and regeneration framework already in place, and a working partnership with central government and rail agencies, the new chief executive will lead the corporation into its next phase, to secure innovative, ambitious and socially responsible development and investment partners, who share our vision and values for the development of Old Oak.
Working directly with our stakeholders including HS2, our boroughs, local and national government and our local and diverse communities, we are deeply committed to transforming this amazing part of London, making it a greener, safer and more prosperous part of the city, where global opportunities are lived and shared locally by all who live, work and visit here, now and for generations of Londoners to come.
We want to hear from talented leaders who share our vision for change and commitment to improve the lives of Londoners, now and into the future, overseeing OPDC and our fantastically talented team, into the next exciting chapter of regeneration.
We look forward to receiving your application.
Yours faithfully,
Dame Karen Buck DBE
Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, Chair
